MYOUR

MYOUR is a brand that offers a different way to own and experience furniture, with a focus on affordability and sustainability. MYOUR rejects throw away culture and instead invites people to create a longer-lasting and deeper relationship with their furniture. MYOUR provides precise and simple instructions for how to build high-quality furniture, which people can build and customize themselves. The production guideline and assembly instructions can be downloaded from the website. SHELTER is the first design in the collection. I created this furniture using the MYOUR principles. SHELTER is a convertible “life-long” furniture. It has four different functions: crib and changing table, children bed with shelf storage, playing tent and desk with storage space. In the future my aim is to create a whole collection that will be available through the MYOUR website.

Fanni Mária Gárdos is an architect and interior designer from Hungary, Budapest. She graduated with a Diploma Prize at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest. She studied furniture design at Lahti University of Applied Sciences in Finland. That was the period when she recognized that she would like to develop further her knowledge about furniture design. She worked in architect offices and as a freelancer for six years. She was also teaching architecture for young adults. Her favorite topics in architecture are environmentally conscious and social architecture. She would like to continue these interests in the design field as well; her master's project also reflects these topics.
