Circle

By Janne Maria Seljelid

The main focus of the project has been the circular economy, where I have examined what impact it can have on the furniture industry and consumption. As a result of these studies, I have developed a piece of furniture with the focus on certain circular principles, which can extend the furniture's lifetime. I believe it is important that designers work with circular principles in order to develop sustainable design. With this project I want to spread that knowledge further to both consumers and the design industry. The project aims to extend the value of furniture through designing for durability and adaptation, as well as possibilities for repair and reuse.
